WGSAC News for 1/2: Happy New Year!

Happy 2013 to everyone! We are back after the holiday weekend and enjoying the new year as well as preparing for the Winter sessions at WGSAC.

On Saturday January 5 from 1-3pm, acclaimed artist Dale Guy Madison will lead a Doll-Making Workshop. There is a $10 fee for materials for this workshop, which is a unique opportunity to learn the tradition and techniques of making hand constructed artist dolls in our workshop space, located just to the side of the gallery. Whether you’ve not been to the doll show yet or are making a return visit for inspiration, or whether you’ve made dolls before or this is your first time, the workshop will begin your creative and inspired new year.

Next week, pre-registration begins for our Winter classes.  This upcoming 10 week session will be focusing on teaching through the music of Sun Ra and his Arkestra, in conjunction with our Heritage Music Education Program. To receive a registration application for classes, students must pre-register between January 8-19. Classes for adults and children include beginning and intermediate classes in Drums, Keyboard, Vocals, Clarinet, Early Childhood Ukulele, Guitar and Ensemble. Pre-registration runs from January 8-19 and only those pre-registered will be able to get an application. Classes begin February 4!
