“Wellness on West View” is a new FREE community program of art, food and health initiated by William Grant Still Arts Center in collaboration with Charles R. Drew University, Village Health Foundation, and West Adams Church of Christ (our neighbor right across the street on West View).
Every Thursday, the HIV Mobile Testing and Outreach Project of Charles Drew University will be parked in front of The William Grant Still Arts Center. Testing takes 20-40 minutes. In addition, HIV counseling, resources and referrals are also available. Please drop by and say hello to the Drew organizers!
On 3rd Saturdays, from 10-Noon, Art Classes on the front lawn of WGS will continue, along with Food Distribution in the parking lot of West Adams Church of Christ. New on 3rd Saturdays, we’ll also welcome our friends from Village Health Foundation, who offer referrals for counseling programs, medical services, and holistic health services. In addition, Charles Drew University’s HIV Outreach Project will be back to offer free, fast and confidential HIV screening, resources and referrals. (*no HIV screening on Saturday 4/20*)
4th Fridays will round out the month with Food and Fresh Produce Distribution. Starting at 9am, please come for a ticket if you are in need of healthy food, especially the vitamins that fresh produce offers!
