Making music, art, dance, and theatre through the creative work of Miles Davis! The William Grant Still Arts Center’s Spring Music and Art Education Program begins again from March 15-May 7. Starting February 29-March 4, give the Center a call to reserve your space.
The Spring Education program teaches music and art through the life and work of a select African-American composer as part of the Center’s African-American Composers Series. This year, that composer will be Miles Davis.
We are pleased to share that all classes will be 100% completely free for ages 3-18, available on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be pre-registered to register.
We’ve added a new class just to offer the chance to be able to get more into the work of Miles. That class is Trumpet (ages 7-18) which we’ll offer once a week on Tuesdays.
Special classes for ages 12-18 include Teen Art – Through Miles; Eye, On-Camera Acting and our Big Read Teen Writing and Bookmaking Club.
Continuing classes include Keyboards, Intro to Visual Art, Drums and African Martial Arts/Capoeria for children and teens, plus Music & Movement for early childhood (ages 3-6)
For adults, Line Dancing, Piano/Keyboards, and Acting will be offered.
