What's Happening This Week

Art & Jazz Summer Camp 2017

Summer Days of Art, Music, Singing, Doll Making, African Martial Arts, Dance, and Creative Exploration!

The William Grant Still Arts Center’s Art and Jazz Summer Camp is a six-week day camp that runs each summer!  All camp sessions are led by professional artists, musicians, and educators (who also teach at the Center through the rest of the year). Campers take part in a variety of workshops and classes throughout the day, including yoga, dance, music, and art. Field trips take campers out into the city, visiting great cultural locations including the Underwood Family Farms, Bob Baker Marionette Theater, Echo Park Recreation Center, California African American Museum, California Science Center, The Getty Villa, Palisades Recreation Center, and more! Camp concludes with a culminating concert and exhibition demonstrating the fun skills children learn from WGSAC’s professional artist-educators.  Art and Jazz Camp is scheduled yearly to coincide with LAUSD’s summer break schedule for the convenience of parents and for the benefit of kids.
