Art & Jazz Camp

Summer Days of Mural-making, Music-making, African Martial Arts, Dance, and Creative Exploration!

The William Grant Still Arts Center’s Art and Jazz Summer Camp is a six-week day camp running each Summer Session!  All camp sessions are led by professional artists, musicians, and educators (who also teach at the Center through the rest of the year). Campers take part in a variety of workshops and classes throughout the day, including yoga, dance, music, and art. Field trips take campers out into the city, visiting great cultural locations including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Grand Performances, Hollywood Bowl’ s “Summer Sounds”, Griffith Observatory, Watts Towers Arts Center, and more.  Camp concludes with a culminating concert and exhibition demonstrating the fun skills children learn from WGSAC’s professional artist-educators.  Art and Jazz Camp is scheduled yearly to coincide with LAUSD’s summer break schedule for the convenience of parents and for the benefit of kids. Our summer ensemble students were invited to perform at the South LA Summer Power Festival and at the Slanguage Youth Summit.
