AIYSHA SINCLAIR Meet Aiysha Sinclair, a Caribbean American Children’s Book Author, Artist, and Storyteller. Raised in Southern California, her upbringing in family tradition and Caribbean culture shaped her artistic lens. For over 20 years, Aiysha’s work has focused on Black History, Folktales, and Fairytales, both on film and stage. She crafts narratives that uplift and inspire. Join Aiysha on a journey of discovery through her enchanting storytelling and masterful puppet-making, as she celebrates the rich tapestry of the Black experience.

CYDNEY WAYNE DAVIS is a seasoned professional lead and background singer who has harmonized her 4 octave voice with legendary artists such as Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Barry White, Joe Cocker, Donna Summer, Stevie Wonder, Bette Midler, Fifth Dimension, Kenny Loggins, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., and Diana Ross in both live performances and studio recordings. “The lessons and tricks of the trade that I’ve learned from some of the most creative and successful artists in the world gives me a professional edge when I take center stage with my own show for concerts or special events as well as in the classroom when I’m coaching and mentoring a new artist.

DELTON DAVIS Delton Davis, educator, musician author, founder and director of Kids Drumming. My mission is to teach children about the rhythmic world around us through music, movement, and language. I believe that the world’s wide array of music is a fun and effective way to communicate across geographical and cultural lines. The instrument can be used as a means to communicate thoughts, feelings, emotions and a story. Everyone has a story and their story matters.

EROZILLA is a Los Angeles-based beat-making sensation. He is a multi-genre music composer, producer, engineer, and educator based out of Leimert Park. Erozilla has over 20 years experience in original sound design, remixes, and live performances. Now, he’s bringing his electrifying energy to our Art & Jazz summer camp, inspiring campers to explore new musical territories. Get ready for a summer of rhythm and creativity learning keyboards and beat making with Erozilla leading the way!

JAHSUN FAKOLADE EDMUNDS Get ready to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of African Martial Arts with JahSun Fakolade Edmonds at our Art & Jazz Summer Camp. With over 20 years of experience as a Capoeira practitioner, JahSun brings a wealth of knowledge and care to his instruction, ensuring an enlightening and empowering experience for all participants. As a Professor of Africana Studies at California State University Dominguez Hills and a Babalawo, IFA Priest, JahSun is uniquely positioned to delve into the spiritual roots of Capoeira and its profound connection to liberation.

MYSHELL TABU Prepare to be captivated by the rhythmic prowess of this veteran tap dance and hip-hop instructor with over 20 years of experience. Born and raised right here in the heart of Mid-City LA, Myshell has graced stages and screens as a professional dancer. Her humor, pedagogy, and ability to differentiate make her an incredible asset to our Art & Jazz Summer Camp.

NIKI BILLINGSLEA has been an adjunct assistant professor of English at Los Angeles Southwest College since 1998. She has an M.F.A. in creative writing from Brooklyn College, where she studied with beat poet Allen Ginsberg. Her poetry and fiction have been published in anthologies, academic journals and poetry publications, including a self-published chapbook. Niki is thrilled to be teaching poetry in our Art & Jazz Summer Camp.
