Art and Music Classes at William Grant Still Arts Center!
William Grant Still Arts Center is one of the only places in the West Adams neighborhood to offer free and low-cost music lessons, art classes, and movement workshops under one roof. We have been doing so for 40 years. We offer classes for both adults and youth helping to create a family environment that is multi-generational and inclusive.
Many of our teachers have taught at the Center for many years and are prominent artists who have worked in the community as well as internationally.
Classes are offered in 6-week or 8-week sessions in the Fall, a 6-week Winter session, and 8-week sessions in the Spring. In Summer, we hold a full time art and music camp for children under 12. All Music and Art workshops offered in the Spring Session are themed to tie into the Annual African American Composers Series. In Winter, our session centers on the theme of the Annual Black Doll Show. We also offer doll making workshops during this session as well. taught by special guest instructors and doll artists.
